When you have the right ingredients, you can "make magic"!
That's what happened on this weekend in Santa Barbara.

Miriam Larici and Sebastian Huici's level of tango expertise was matched by their genuine love for people and for  TEACHING tango! Down-to-earth, personable, sweet, humble, full of life and vibrant energy, they inspired, entertained, and showed everyone who wanted to see it, that top tier tango dancers are after all human beings in the best sense of the words.

Tango dancers drove to join us from San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Lompoc, and Santa Ynez in the north, and from LA, Orange County, and all the way down in San Diego from the south. They filled the workshops, but not so full that you could not see the teachers. Four of the 5 workshops had perfect gender balance, and the fifth one had one woman more than it had men. We charged reasonable tuition and fees, but not cheap, because tango that is cheapened is tango that is disrespected, and because we take pride in offering beautifully-decorated, air-conditioned, comfortable spaces for tango dancers, and tango dancers seem to like that.

There were 4 milongas, one hosted by the city of Santa Barbara with a live band!

We spent 5, 6, and 7 hours respectively putting together the music programs for the other three milongas: Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night, and many dancers said they liked the results; and that's a priceless compliment. Thank you.

And the unsolicited testimonials came in:

"Thank you so much for your hospitality and great work shop and milongas. We really had fun and I must congratulate you for a nice group of dancers that you gathered around. Please send our regards to all dancers ( Liliana, Sara, Paul, Brooklyn...) such a nice group."

"Thanks for all you did to organize Miriam and Sebastian this past weekend. We had fun attending the various events and dancing and getting to know them."

Many thanks for your participation, a proof positive validation of our dedication to the tango. And many thanks to Ilya and Regina Magid and to Mary Fu and Val Zomorrodian for all they did to make the weekend soooo full of joy!

Please join us every Friday as we bring you some of the best tango music, in a beautiful atmosphere that is meant to foster friendship and a genuine respect and love for the essence of the tango, for that in the tango which is sure to survive for generations to come: click here for details.
